You may request cancellation by telephone, and we will send you written confirmation.
The cancellation/termination will take effect from the date this form is sent (not the date we receive it), provided it is sent within the applicable period. We recommend retaining proof of postage or a copy of your sent email for your records.
What Happens Next
If you cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period (Section A):
- We will send you written confirmation of cancellation within 5 working days;
- We will refund any amounts you have paid within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice;
- We will securely delete or return any documents you have provided, unless we are required to retain them for regulatory purposes;
- Your Letter of Authority will be revoked and we will notify the lender accordingly;
- Any credit search data obtained by AX-ai Ltd on your behalf will be retained only as required by their data retention policy;
- You will be free to pursue your claim independently, through the FCA redress scheme, or instruct another firm.
If you terminate after the cooling-off period (Section B):
- We will send you written confirmation of termination within 5 working days;
- We will provide you with an itemised statement of any charges for work completed, within 14 days of receiving your termination notice;
- Any charges will be reasonable and proportionate to the work actually done and will comply with FCA/SRA expectations (February 2026);
- If your claim was found to have poor prospects, no termination fee will be charged;
- If a complaint has already been submitted to the lender on your behalf, we will notify the lender that we are no longer instructed;
- We will transfer your file to you or your new representative (if applicable) within a reasonable time;
- We will securely delete our copy of your data after the applicable retention period (see Privacy Notice);
- You will be free to pursue your claim independently, through the FCA redress scheme, or instruct another firm.
Your Rights After Cancellation / Termination
After cancellation or termination, you retain the right to:
- Complain directly to your lender — free of charge;
- Refer to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) — free of charge (0800 023 4567 / www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk);
- Participate in the FCA Motor Finance Consumer Redress Scheme — if introduced, free of charge;
- Seek free advice from Citizens Advice (0800 144 8848) or MoneyHelper (0800 138 7777);
- Instruct another solicitor or claims management company — though fees may apply with the new provider.
