Section 3: Grounds for Your Claim
Please tick all that apply. I believe I may have been mis-sold motor finance because:
- I was not told that the dealer/broker would receive a commission from the lender
- I was not told the amount of commission paid to the dealer/broker
- The dealer/broker had a Discretionary Commission Arrangement (DCA) allowing them to increase the interest rate to increase their commission
- I was not offered a fair comparison of finance products and interest rates
- The dealer/broker told me they were finding me the best deal, but was limited to one or a small number of lenders
- The finance arrangement created an unfair relationship (sections 140A-C Consumer Credit Act 1974)
- The interest rate was higher than it should have been due to hidden commission
- The commission was excessive (exceeding 35% of total cost of credit and 10% of amount borrowed)
- There was a contractually tied arrangement where the dealer’s independence was misrepresented
Section 4: Multiple Representation Check
IMPORTANT — FCA/SRA Joint Requirement (February 2026)
Having multiple representatives for the same claim causes delays, confusion and may result in unnecessary termination fees. Before signing, please confirm:
- I confirm that I have NOT instructed any other solicitor, law firm, CMC or other representative to pursue a claim relating to the same finance agreement identified above.
- I HAVE previously instructed another representative for this claim (details to be provided).
If you have previously instructed another representative, we will need written confirmation that the prior instruction has been terminated before we can proceed.
Section 5: Authorisation
I, the undersigned, hereby authorise Milberg London LLP, trading as MotorRedress (SRA No. 670230) to:
- Act on my behalf in investigating, pursuing and resolving my claim against the finance provider;
- Contact the finance provider in my name to make a formal complaint, request disclosure and negotiate settlement;
- Obtain and review all documents relating to my finance agreement;
- Instruct AX-ai Ltd to carry out a credit reference check (soft search, no impact on credit score);
- Refer my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) if required;
- Commence and conduct court proceedings if necessary;
- Receive settlement funds on my behalf and deduct fees as set out in the DBA;
- Communicate with third parties including FCA, FOS, credit reference agencies, litigation funders, ATE insurers;
- Participate in any FCA-led redress scheme on my behalf if considered in my best interests.
This authority remains in force until the claim is concluded or until I revoke it in writing.
Section 6: Fee Disclosure
Damages Based Agreement (DBA):
- The Firm’s fee is 50% (inclusive of VAT) of any damages recovered
- You will keep a minimum of 50% of any amount recovered
- You pay nothing if your claim is unsuccessful (No Win, No Fee)
- Litigation funding costs and ATE insurance premiums are paid from the Firm’s share, not from yours
- There is no upfront fee, retainer or advance payment

Note: The CMCOB fee cap figures are exclusive of VAT. The total amount you pay will never exceed the DBA cap of 50% inclusive of VAT. In practice, for most claims settled below GBP 50,000, the effective fee will be determined by the CMCOB cap.
Section 7: Acknowledgement of Free Alternatives
YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO USE A CLAIMS MANAGEMENT COMPANY OR LAW FIRM TO MAKE THIS CLAIM.
I have been clearly informed that I have the right to:
- Complain directly to my finance provider free of charge
- Refer my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) free of charge
- Wait for the FCA Motor Finance Consumer Redress Scheme (estimated average payout approx. GBP 700)
- Seek free guidance from Citizens Advice (0800 144 8848), MoneyHelper (0800 138 7777), or the FCA
Section 8: Cancellation Rights
I understand that I have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date I sign this Letter of Authority, during which I may cancel without charge or penalty.

Section 9: Data Protection (UK GDPR) Consent
I consent to Milberg London LLP collecting, processing, storing and sharing my personal data for the purposes of investigating and pursuing my motor finance claim, instructing AX-ai Ltd for credit searches, corresponding with relevant parties, complying with legal obligations, and participating in any FCA-led redress scheme.
I have read and understood the Firm’s Privacy Notice.
Section 10: Consumer Duty Acknowledgement
In accordance with the FCA’s Consumer Duty (PS22/9), Milberg London LLP confirms that:
- We will act to deliver good outcomes for you throughout the claims process
- Our fee represents fair value for the legal services provided
- We will ensure you receive clear, timely and understandable information at every stage
- We will provide appropriate support, including reasonable adjustments for any vulnerability
Section 11: Declaration and Signature
I confirm that:
- The information provided is true, accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge;
- I have read and understood the Pre-Contract Information Summary, the DBA, the Client Care Letter, and the Privacy Notice;
- I have been informed of my right to pursue this claim free of charge, including through the proposed FCA Redress Scheme;

- I understand my 14-day right to cancel without charge;
